Explore how CJ Group nurtures dreams, promotes culture and drives societal change through the CJ Welfare Foundation and CJ Cultural Foundation As one of South Korea’s leading companies, CJ Group believes that culture has the power to shape the future, while sharing is the foundation that helps make it all possible. Through the CJ Welfare Foundation and CJ Cultural Foundation, CJ has embraced the role of “Dream Keeper,” striving to improve lives, nurture dreams and contribute meaningfully to society. Like the Medici family, who fueled the Renaissance in Europe, CJ has a legacy of steadfast support for the arts and culture, playing a key role in fostering creativity and cultural growth across generations. In 2005, the CJ Welfare Foundation launched CJ Donorscamp, South Korea’s first online social contribution platform. This initiative allows anyone to participate in philanthropic efforts, focusing not just on donations but on collective participation. CJ Donorscamp enables teachers at child welfare centers to propose educational programs, while donors choose where to contribute. With its 1:1 donation matching system, CJ Donorscamp doubles the impact of each contribution. CJ’s focus on supporting children and youth from economically disadvantaged backgrounds is at the heart of CJ Donorscamp’s mission. Through various programs, such as literary contests and cultural diversity education, the platform ensures equal opportunities for cultural education. Additionally, CJ Donorscamp provides scholarships, internships and support for talented youth and college students, as well as vocational training in the culinary arts, baking and service management for vulnerable young adults, including those aging out of foster care. This training is directly linked to employment opportunities within CJ Group, boasting an impressive 90% placement rate. What’s more, the CJ Cultural Foundation has championed young artists since 1993. Through initiatives like the “TUNE UP” program, which supports indie musicians, and the “STORY UP” program, which aids short film production, CJ has helped launch numerous artists and filmmakers onto the global stage. The foundation also plays a crucial role in promoting original musicals and fostering cultural exchange programs. CJ Group’s commitment to sharing and culture extends beyond charity — creating opportunities, fostering talent and building a better tomorrow. By supporting the dreams of future generations, CJ continues to inspire as a true “Dream Keeper.” To learn more, watch the video on CJ Newsroom’s official YouTube channel.
