Korea’s next generation cinema technology company reports record success. CJ 4DPLEX, the world’s leading producer of premium film formats and cinema technologies, has achieved the best first half global box office performance in the company’s history, surpassing its 2019 pre-pandemic levels.     The combined box office revenue of the company’s 4DX, ScreenX, and 4DXScreen grossed to $236 million worldwide in the first half of 2023, breaking records for the company and marking a significant increase of 33% compared to 2019’s $177 million box office.  As of July, CJ 4DPLEX operates 1,152 screens in 73 countries, with the U.S. accounting for the largest share of global box office success. Since its first U.S location opened in 2014, the company has established 52 4DX and 74 ScreenX screens in the market. With the continuing success, CJ 4DPLEX plans to expand its footprint in the U.S. by 1.3 times by 2025. The first half of 2023 saw the major releases including “The Super Mario Bros. Movie,””Guardians of the Galaxy: Volume 3,””Fast X” and 49 other films in 4DX and ScreenX. Blockbusters such as “Meg 2: The Trench” are set to arrive on CJ 4DPLEX’s premium screen formats in the second half of the year.
