From thrillers, sci-fi to dating reality shows, CJ ENM’s TVING originals have gained global recognition. It has never been a better time to be a fan of Korean content. With global audiences continuing to crave Korean content, CJ ENM, a leading entertainment company, and its streaming platform TVING have been developing and producing captivating TV shows, films and more. The success of these globally recognized TVING Originals can be attributed to their exceptional storytelling, innovative production techniques, and unwavering dedication to delivering engaging and distinctive content. “Monstrous,” “Yonder,” and “EXchange” are notable examples of these originals, captivating global audiences with their unique appeal and entertainment value, showcasing TVING’s innovative spirit and earning international recognition. Monstrous: An Intriguing Thriller Series Invited to Cannes International Series “Monstrous” revolves around the mystery of a cursed Buddha statue that is wreaking havoc on a neighborhood. The series has been lauded for its stylistic techniques incorporated throughout the drama, including its dramatic mise-en-scène, unconventional and thrilling subject matter as well as its eye-catching CGI. With a winning combination of an exceptional cast, masterful direction and unique stylistic elements, the show garnered a global following, with viewers praising it for its suspenseful storyline and high production quality. Likewise, the show also attracted the attention of industry leaders. As a result, the series was invited to the Cannes International Series in the out-of-competition section in April 2022, a prestigious event celebrating TV shows from all over the world, helping to place it in front of the eyes of more global viewers.  With the program’s popularity continuing to build, the series has been released in six European nations, including France, Monaco, Andorra, Belgium, Luxembourg and Switzerland, on the Insomnia channel — operated by MEDIAWAN on Amazon Prime Video.  Yonder: An Emotional South Korean Drama Captivates Viewers Worldwide “Yonder” tells the poignant tale of a married couple separated by death. The series explores a wide range of themes, including love, loss, happiness and the complexity of life and death. “Yonder” originally gained traction domestically for its somber yet heartwarming storyline and also marks the first melodrama by renowned director Lee Jun-ik.  The captivating story of two star-crossed lovers was mesmerizing for global viewers, and the success of this show can be attributed to the partnership between CJ ENM and Viacom CBS. “Yonder” marked the first project under the two companies’ partnership, with the aim to bring premium entertainment to global audiences. The show has been released in 27 countries on Paramount+, including the U.S., Canada, the U.K., Australia and France.  As it delves into profound philosophical themes and contains an emotionally stirring narrative, the show has become the most-watched global series on Paramount+ in the U.S., a testament to the meaningful connection viewers felt to the characters and their lives.  EXchange: CJ ENM’s Dating Reality Show Adapted Globally CJ ENM’s popular dating reality show “EXchange” has gained popularity alongside similar programs since its debut. The show reunites ex-couples in a shared living space, where they participate in activities designed to build new relationships. The first season of the show became the most popular entertainment program on TVING in 2021, recording the highest viewing hours on the platform.  The show’s popularity, however, did not stop there, and the show went on to succeed outside of Korea as well. The second season was a smash hit in several countries on the streaming service Viu, a leading pan-regional OTT video service (with presence across Asia, the Middle East, and South Africa). The show ranked in the top five on the non-drama chart on the platform in Indonesia, Singapore, Malaysia, Hong Kong and Thailand, demonstrating its popularity among foreign audiences. As a result, the series was recently released on the French OTT platform 6play, with European viewers now able to enjoy the show as well.  Additionally, a Japanese adaptation titled “Love Transit” was released worldwide on June 15 through Amazon Prime Video, giving global viewers the opportunity to experience the hype surrounding the show for themselves.
