Approximately 45,000 attendees gathered at the venue, with an additional 3.6 million viewers from 165 regions participating virtually through digital platforms.  This year’s KCON was particularly significant as it marked KCON’s entry into the Greater China region. Hong Kong, ranking 6th globally in K-pop album exports, is a key market for K-pop performances in Asia. The event’s new location sparked curiosity amongst K-pop fans regarding how it would differ from past experiences. An Event That Brings Fans Together As the world’s largest K-culture festival centered on K-pop, “KCON HONG KONG 2024” kicked off its first day at 10 a.m. with eager fans lining up outside the convention center. Attendees anxious to meet their favorite artists and participate in events like “DREAM STAGE” and “MEET & GREET” gathered early, counting the moments until the doors opened. “MEET & GREET” is one of the main attractions at KCON, featuring interactive talk show sessions between artists and their fans. Fans eagerly awaited the performances of their favorite artists, buzzing with excitement at the prospect of meeting them face-to-face and mingling with fellow enthusiasts who share their passions. Visitors immersed themselves not only in the music but also in various facets of K-culture, including K-drama, entertainment, beauty, tourism and cuisine.  The hallmark of KCON lies in its interactive content. Beyond merely spectating, attendees were able to interact more intimately with artists across different stages and pose questions via message boards. Furthermore, by participating in “DREAM STAGE” fans had the opportunity to grace the same stage as their favorite artists, showcasing their talents on the exact stage illuminated by the same lights and ambiance.
