CJ Foods accelerates K-food expansion in Oceania, entering IGA, one of Australia’s largest supermarket chains, and covering over 80% of the country’s major retailers Five types of bibigo Mandu sold by CJ Foods at IGA in Australia CJ Foods is accelerating its expansion of K-Foods into Oceania. CJ Foods has entered IGA, one of Australia’s largest supermarket chains. The six products in stores include three types of bibigo Homestyle Mandu (pork, pork & kimchi and vegetable), Steamed Mandu (pork and pork & kimchi), and Korean Cheese Crispy Corn Dogs. IGA is Australia’s fourth-largest supermarket chain, with over 1,300 stores nationwide. Combined with the largest supermarket chain, Woolworths, and the second largest, Coles, where CJ Foods already has a presence, the total number of stores in Australia exceeds 3,300. This accounts for over 80% of Australia’s top four retailers, making it easier for consumers to access bibigo K-food products. “We are rapidly expanding sales, focusing on large retail channels widely used locally,” said Cha Eugene, head of CJ Foods Oceania. “We aim to build a strong sales network across Australia, ensuring that customers can enjoy bibigo products wherever they are.” Oceania is a key region where CJ Foods is accelerating its K-food expansion strategy. The company began its operations in earnest in 2022 and currently supplies bibigo products to major local retail channels, including Australian supermarkets and convenience stores, as well as New Zealand’s large supermarket chains, New World and PAK’nSAVE. As a result of this active business expansion, CJ Foods’ sales in the Oceania region grew by 43% year-on-year from January to September last year.
