Until now, AI technology in video content has mainly advanced to improve production efficiency. Most of these technologies have focused on improving production decisions, such as predicting a project’s financial success and optimizing the production environment, speeding up workflows by automating repetitive tasks and enhancing content quality with high-quality CG or VFX implementation and high-resolution restoration.
However, the role of AI in video content is now expanding in a new direction as the world enters an era in which everyone has the potential to become a creator — the “democratization of creation.” Moving forward, content will be created in real time to match individual preferences, ordinary people will be able to effortlessly make virtual characters to create new IP and original content will be transformed into various forms for mass production.

Reducing Editing Time by 91% With Object Tracking Technology
The starting point? Millstone CUE’s AI Blur feature.
At the core of the AI technology developed by CJ Group’s AI R&D Division is an advanced, proprietary object tracking technology. Traditional technologies often require a reference photo and fail to identify the same individual between separate shots, meaning video editors have to manually reapply blurs with every scene shift.
Millstone CUE features a proprietary object tracking technology that accurately detects and tracks the same individual not only within a single video but also across different shots — even as the person moves or the scene changes.
This innovative approach, not seen in existing solutions, marks the most advanced AI blurring technology currently available. Millstone CUE’s unique and technical advances have been recognized through multiple patent applications, both domestic and international. It reliably identifies and tracks the same person from various angles and across scene transitions — and can even analyze multiple individuals simultaneously.
AI Blur drastically reduces editing time. With just a few clicks, video editors can apply fast and consistent blurring. In internal testing, Millstone CUE reduced the time required to blur a 10-to-15-minute video by 91%. In other words, tasks that once took six hours can now be completed in under 30 minutes.

Testing and Refining Blur Technology with CJ ENM Content
In order to rigorously test and refine the system, the AI R&D Division first applied its blur technology to video content produced by CJ ENM.
In broadcast production, blur effects are often required to avoid unwanted brand exposure or potential copyright and trademark issues. Traditionally, production teams had to repeatedly watch through footage, identify what needed to be blurred and when, and then manually apply blurs frame by frame in a highly labor-intensive process.

During the process of editing YouTube content for K-pop group ZEROBASEONE and official YouTube videos for Mnet’s “World of Street Woman Fighter,” Millstone CUE’s AI Blur technology was used to successfully track the same individuals even after their makeup or hairstyles had changed.
As a result, the faces of non-featured individuals such as staff members were automatically blurred, helping to avoid facial exposure and minimize the risk of leaking personal information. The technology proved especially effective for K-pop idol content, in which multiple individuals often appear on screen simultaneously. Editing time was significantly reduced as well.
The AI R&D Division also made use of the AI Remover feature, which is currently in development. This tool automatically removes unnecessary objects like filming equipment from footage, helping create cleaner, more polished videos. AI Remover is now being prepared as a follow-up feature to the AI Blur service.
Millstone CUE Officially Launched in August 2025
CJ Group’s AI R&D Division officially launched Millstone CUE in August as an AI solution that supports everything from video search to editing and creation. The initial release featured the AI Blur service, with plans to add more features like AI-driven scene searches for long videos in future updates.
