bibigo gimbap is now available at Woolworths, broadening its range of K-food offerings in-store. A customer at Woolworths looking at bibigo Gimbap products On May 12, CJ Foods, a business unit of CheilJedang, introduced bibigo’s frozen Gimbap Seaweed Rice Rolls at Woolworths, Australia’s leading supermarket chain. This marks the first time a major Australian retail outlet is offering gimbap in stores. The new addition of gimbap at over 1,000 Woolworths stores follows the successful introduction of bibigo’s Tuna Mayo Gimbap and Bulgogi Gimbap in Japan last year. To cater to the evolving food preferences of Australian consumers, the bulgogi flavor in particular is uniquely made with plant-based ingredients instead of following the traditional beef recipe. Since last year, Woolworths has offered six delectable varieties of bibigo Mandu, including pork, pork and kimchi, chicken, Korean barbecue, vegetables and shrimp. Together with the gimbap lineup, the supermarket will offer a larger portion of the pork and vegetable flavor in response to its growing demand.  Gimbap, first introduced last year in Japan, is among CJ Foods’ global strategic “K-Street Food” lineups. In the last year alone, it has expanded into over 2,000 Japanese mainstream distribution channels, with sales surpassing 1.5 million units. This includes AEON, Japan’s top supermarket company. After its successful debut at Woolworths in May of 2023, CJ Foods introduced a comprehensive lineup of 14 “K-Street Food” products at Ezymart, a prominent convenience store chain in Australia. Some of the featured offerings include bibigo’s Tteokbokki, Seaweed Snacks and Sticky White Rice, as well as locally made Pork & Kimchi Flavoured bibigo Mandu and bibigo Kimchi.
