OLIVE YOUNG Global’s ‘Big Bang Sale’ from August 30 to September 5
2024.08.29
CJ Olive Young’s new logistics center serves as a gateway for K-beauty brands to enter overseas markets The Olive Young Anseong Logistics Center CJ Olive Young has announced the construction of the Olive Young Anseong Logistics Center, a new logistics facility located in Anseong, Gyeonggi Province, near Seoul, South Korea. The center is slated to commence trial operations this month. The Anseong Center will manage logistics for the Olive Young Global Mall, as well as for the company’s private labels like BIOHEAL BOH and WAKEMAKE. Its establishment is a strategic move to consolidate operations that were previously dispersed among three separate facilities within the Seoul Metropolitan Area, creating a centralized “hub” to maximize business synergy and operational efficiency. Spanning 33,000 square meters, the floor area of the Anseong Center is comparable to the size of five soccer fields. It is also Olive Young’s second-largest logistics facility in Korea, following the CJ Yangji Logistics Center. The center’s single-story layout is designed for optimal inventory management, while its strategic location near the Yangji Center, which supports both stores in the Seoul Metropolitan Area and the global online mall, further elevates the company’s overall operational efficiency.   The new logistics center will adopt a dual operational strategy, specifically tailored to the requirements of each business sector. Customized shipping facilities, including from carriers like DHL and EMS, will be introduced for the global mall section to guarantee streamlined international delivery services. This setup aims to ensure smooth deliveries and order fulfillment during major sales periods, including Black Friday and Cyber Monday, when the frequency and volume of international orders can surge by more than five times compared to regular levels. In the future, the center plans to automate critical processes, from product sorting to packaging, as part of its strategy to improve productivity.  A dedicated space will also be established for private label products which were previously managed across two separate facilities in Yangji. This integration will reduce shipping time to external sales outlets such as export channels and duty-free shops, with the ultimate goal of providing delivery services on par with those offered by manufacturers and distributors abroad. Unlike the distribution capabilities of global malls, which handle a variety of small orders in multiple shipments, this facility is designed to handle large, continuous shipments within a dedicated space of 1,322 square meters.  CJ Olive Young is strategically leveraging the new Anseong Center to propel its global and brand businesses, which are pivotal for the company’s future growth. This initiative also seeks to address the rising global demand and interest in K-beauty products, while providing a springboard for burgeoning small and medium-sized brands looking to break into the international market. Additionally, Olive Young is committed to continuously improving its logistics capabilities to bolster the expansion of its global mall, which currently offers K-beauty products in 150 countries.
