Checkout line at Olive Young N Seongsu CJ Olive Young announced on April 10 that its signature store, Olive Young N Seongsu, located in Seongdong-gu, Seoul, surpassed 1 million visitors by the end of March, just four months after its opening in November of last year. The store’s success stems from offering more than a shopping experience, allowing customers to immerse themselves in the latest K-beauty trends. The average daily visitor count reaches 8,000, making it the second-highest-performing store nationwide, just behind the Myeongdong Town store. International customer sales account for 70% of total revenue, and the store ranks third nationwide in terms of foreign customer traffic, cementing its position as a “global K-beauty landmark” that attracts customers of all regions and nationalities. Olive Young N Seongsu serves as both a “testbed” for Olive Young’s latest market trends and an “incubator” for discovering promising new brands. Of the 158 new brands that opened at the store, 7 have expanded into over 1,370 stores nationwide. According to an internal survey by Olive Young, customers reported experiencing retail innovation in a highly immersive, large-scale shopping environment that cannot be found in traditional retail channels. In fact, 80% of respondents described their store visit as “innovative,” with key adjectives such as “young,” “trendy,” “new” and “diverse” being frequently associated with the store. The store’s beauty care services have gained popularity across nationalities and races. Skin Scan (skin and scalp check) service, available in the store’s third-floor, is so in demand that daily reservations are often fully booked. The service offers expert-level skin assessments and personalized skincare routines based on individual skin types, which has led to a surge in international customer visits, with nearly 72% of customers being international. The makeup services, including seasonal and trend-based looks, personalized consultations, and DIY makeup creation, have received positive feedback. The store’s beauty consultants offer customized services tailored to both skin types and lifestyles, setting the store apart. Looking ahead, Olive Young plans to enhance experiential beauty services, enabling customers to enjoy the immersive store experience of Olive Young N Seongsu at any of its locations.
