Mnet Plus is turning fan-interactive content into growth, with content views up more than sixfold and live viewership more than fourfold from a year earlier Mnet Plus, CJ ENM’s global K-POP content platform Leading entertainment company CJ ENM said Mnet Plus, its global K-POP content platform, is expanding its reach among Gen Z users worldwide.  According to recent platform data, cumulative app users are approaching 45 million, while average monthly active users have more than doubled from a year earlier. Content views increased more than sixfold and live viewership more than fourfold, underscoring stronger user retention driven by a broader content lineup and Mnet Plus’ distinctive “fanteractive” (fan + interactive) experience. A major driver of that growth has been the synergy between Mnet Plus and Mnet’s weekly music program “M COUNTDOWN.” Rather than logging in only to cast pre-votes for chart rankings, fans are now spending more time on the platform through fanteractive content such as “Weekly MCD Pick Stage” and “Monthly MCD Pick Stage,” which let them vote for the best performances each week and month. That momentum has also carried over to Mnet Plus original content, including “Waiting Room Live.” This year, both average daily active users and the number of users taking part in “M COUNTDOWN” voting have more than doubled from the same period last year. As live viewership expanded across more regions, the U.S. entered the top 10 countries for viewership, underscoring Mnet Plus’ growing reach in North America. Mnet Plus plans to build on that momentum by rolling out more interactive features alongside “M COUNTDOWN,” creating a more seamless environment where fans can enjoy K-POP as part of their daily lives. Streaming on Mnet Plus  The platform is also gaining traction among male users, reflecting the broad appeal of its free, globally accessible streaming content. One in three (roughly 32%) of new users are male teens and young adults, highlighting a promising new growth driver of the platform. Beyond artist-focused offerings, popular Mnet programs are driving engagement. Mnet’s hit program “Show Me The Money 12” has attracted highly engaged audiences across 157 regions — including Korea, Thailand, China, Indonesia, Japan and Taiwan — with viewers spending an average of 60 minutes per session.  Engagement around the platform’s global projects has been equally strong. For “PRODUCE 101 JAPAN SHINSEKAI,” one of the highly anticipated series in Japan, fans in 152 regions participated in pre-broadcast voting through 101PASS. Participation was broadly distributed rather than concentrated in a few markets, with North America also posting a double-digit share alongside Korea and China. The livestream of the preliminary event “101DAY” also drew viewers from 106 regions, reinforcing Mnet Plus’ role as a real-time hub where global audiences can watch and engage with content together. “We believe users are increasingly responding to the unique appeal of the fanteractive content that only Mnet Plus can offer,” an Mnet Plus representative said. “Along with broadening our content lineup, we will continue to strengthen the PC web viewing experience so that users, including global Gen Z audiences, can immerse themselves more fully in Mnet Plus and make it part of their everyday lives.”
