CJ CheilJedang has launched Cuisine.K, a program which aims to provide Korean cuisine training courses for young Korean chefs in an effort to fuel the global Korean food craze.
The food giant’s professional chef training program includes:
- Sponsorship of chef teams from the Korean Cooks Federation competing in international culinary competitions
- Opportunities to operate Korean pop-up restaurants
- Support for studying at prestigious culinary schools and establishment of Korean cuisine courses
- Classes looking into traditional ingredients and new recipe development led by Korean food gurus and renowned chefs
- Short-term training at exceptional Michelin star-awarded Korean fine dining restaurants
“We’re thrilled to support talented young chefs and showcase the exquisite artistry of Korean cuisine to the world,” said Lee Sun-ho, Head of the Growth Transformation Division. “Cuisine.K will serve as the foundation for the future establishment of a prestigious Korean culinary school, akin to Le Cordon Bleu in France. Through this initiative, we aim to cultivate a new generation of culinary talents who will elevate Korean cuisine to new heights on the global stage.”
CJ CheilJedang, which began as a Korean sugar manufacturer in 1953, has now grown to become a prominent player in the food, pharmaceutical and bioengineering industries. The company has earned its reputation for spearheading the global Korean food market with its renowned Korean food brand bibigo which, embracing the motto “Share Korean Flavor,” is continuing to successfully introduce the rich and diverse tastes of Korea to the world.
CJ CheilJedang has actively promoted bibigo through sponsorships of global events such as The CJ Cup, a part of the PGA tour, its partnership with the NBA’s Los Angeles Lakers and KCON, the world’s largest K-culture festival.
