Global supply chains are becoming more tightly and rapidly connected than ever before. Consumers place orders across multiple channels, and companies must build trust through fast and predictable delivery. In this evolving landscape, logistics has moved beyond the simple function of transportation and has become essential infrastructure that connects markets and opportunities.
In response to these changes in the global logistics environment, CJ Logistics has officially launched its Saudi Global Distribution Center (GDC), a strategic hub connecting the Middle East. More than a simple geographic expansion, this milestone represents the full-scale implementation of a global logistics strategy that combines advanced technology with operational excellence. It lays an important foundation for expanding the competitiveness of K-logistics onto the world stage.
Expanding the Horizon of Connectivity, The Launch of the Saudi GDC
Logistics now operates on the premise of a global network that transcends national borders. As products manufactured around the world reach consumers through diverse routes, the key lies in building stable and predictable supply chains. CJ Logistics has consistently pursued a strategy of expanding our proven domestic logistics technologies and operational expertise into overseas markets. At the center of this effort is the Saudi GDC (Global Distribution Center). The launch of this facility is not merely the opening of a new center, but a strategic turning point in applying and extending Korea’s advanced logistics systems to the global market.

A New Hub for Middle Eastern Logistics: The Value and Role of the Saudi GDC
In February, CJ Logistics officially announced the grand opening of the Saudi GDC at the Integrated Logistics Special Zone of King Khalid International Airport in Riyadh, Saudi Arabia. Built with an investment of approximately KRW 60 billion, this comprehensive logistics hub spans 20,000 square meters and has the capacity to process more than 20,000 parcels per day.

The Saudi GDC goes beyond serving a single country. It functions as a cross-border logistics hub supplying goods to multiple Middle Eastern countries, including the UAE, Kuwait, and Qatar. By integrating the entire e-commerce process, from product storage and inventory management to packaging, customs clearance, and delivery, the center minimizes supply chain risks through a seamless and comprehensive system. The Middle East is a rapidly growing digital commerce market. As transactions between global brands and local consumers expand, logistics infrastructure is emerging as a critical source of competitive advantage. The Saudi GDC is set to establish itself as a strategic hub capable of meeting the demands of this dynamic market environment.
Operational Efficiency Powered by Advanced Technology: The Integration of Digitalization and Automation

The Saudi GDC was designed based on the successful model of the Incheon GDC in Korea. Advanced systems proven at the Incheon hub have been implemented locally, enabling differentiated automated operations. Multi-shuttle systems and AGVs (Automated Guided Vehicles) move between racks measuring up to 10 meters in height and 60 meters in length, automatically storing and retrieving goods. The GTP (Goods-to-Person) system delivers products directly to operators, while the OTP (Order-to-Person) system moves order boxes to designated product zones, enhancing both operational efficiency and accuracy. These automation systems minimize worker movement while simultaneously improving processing speed and precision. As a result, the facility is equipped to respond reliably to high-volume and multi-SKU orders.
Globalizing K-Logistics: Expanding into the Global Supply Chain
The launch of the Saudi GDC represents more than an expansion of the global network. It signifies that CJ Logistics has secured a strategic forward base to extend Asia-based logistics innovation capabilities into the global market. In particular, strengthening overseas direct-to-consumer shipping capabilities and stabilizing cross-border e-commerce logistics demonstrate the global competitiveness of the Korean-style GDC model. Expanding the network to neighboring countries, including the UAE, delivers tangible value to customers through optimized logistics costs and reduced lead times. The Saudi GDC will serve as a key hub driving the globalization of K-logistics and play a pivotal role in expanding the global supply chains of Korean brands.

Logistics is evolving beyond the simple function of moving goods. It has become essential infrastructure that connects brands, sellers, consumers, and markets. Combining technology with operational expertise within this connected ecosystem defines true global competitiveness. Leveraging our technology-driven advanced logistics solutions and global network capabilities, CJ Logistics will continue to connect customers and markets more seamlessly, strengthening our competitiveness around the core values of connection and innovation amid the rapidly changing global logistics environment.
