A closer look at the mindset and behaviors behind CJ Talent — “We Who Prove It”
Why do some people keep growing while others stay in the same place? Many employees stay busy, but far fewer consistently deliver results and continue to improve.
The difference often comes down less to ability than to mindset and choice. At CJ, those who look for better ways of working, choose possibility over familiarity and demonstrate results are defined as CJ Talent — “We Who Prove It.”
Recently, CJ reassessed how employees understand the concept. Based on a survey of nearly 1,000 employees — from affiliate CEOs to Gen Z new hires — the company developed a clearer, shared definition:
“We Who Prove It — people who act, learn from challenges, push boundaries and deliver results.”
At the core of that definition are five attitudes consistently demonstrated by employees who continue to grow at CJ.

1️⃣ Create Newer Tomorrow
The first trait associated with CJ Talent is a proactive drive to create change. These individuals seek out meaningful ideas, discuss them and put them into action — steadily improving how work gets done.
That does not always mean launching something entirely new. Small improvements in existing work — carried through to completion — are just as important.
At CJ, curiosity, continuous learning and constant refinement are seen as key drivers of future growth.
2️⃣ Dream Bolder
CJ Talent chooses possibility over familiarity and bold challenges over safe bets. More than simply setting higher goals, this reflects a mindset that embraces risk in pursuit of better outcomes and future growth.
Rather than stopping at incremental successes, they ask themselves, “Is there a better way?” and turn that question into a starting point for bolder action, guided by a clear vision for the future.
3️⃣ Make Dreams Real
CJ Talent proves itself through tangible results, not words alone. They do not stop at plans or intentions but follow through until their efforts lead to measurable outcomes.
Just as climbing Everest is not only about reaching the summit but also about charting a new path, CJ Talent strives to leave a lasting impact. Each success lays the groundwork for the next challenge.
4️⃣ Stay Resilient
Not every endeavor results in success. For CJ Talent, however, failure is not a barrier to progress.
Even when one attempt does not lead to the desired outcome, they confront the fear of failure and try again, learning from the experience. They place greater value on the learning and resilience gained through perseverance than on the failure itself.
5️⃣ Be Authentic
CJ Talent takes ownership by proactively finding opportunities to contribute and acting on them. That commitment becomes even more meaningful when it contributes to the growth of colleagues and the organization.
That is why CJ Talent considers both what they want to do and what needs to be done. Acting with purpose, honesty and accountability throughout the process, they deliver outcomes that build trust.

In general, a company’s talent framework defines what it expects from its people. CJ’s updated requirements for CJ Talent carry another important message: before asking anything of employees, leaders must first eliminate the barriers that can hold them back.
Among the behaviors identified as obstacles to a “We Who Prove It” culture are “Work Overload,” “Command and Abandon,” “Faction Building,” “Dragging Out Decisions,” “Micromanaging,” “Stealing Credit” and “One-Sided Communication.” The list is not meant to be fixed and will continue to be updated and refined based on the organization’s experience.
This also helps correct the misconception that CJ Talent simply refers to working harder or longer. In a culture where leaders intervene excessively or claim credit for others’ work, it becomes difficult for new ideas to take root and for bold challenges to move forward.

“We Who Prove It” has long defined what CJ Talent stands for. This review was less about creating a new concept than about sharpening its meaning in a changing environment.
Ultimately, CJ Talent refers to people who create change on their own and prove it through challenge and results. But that growth becomes even more powerful when people who embody “We Who Prove It” grow together. By fostering a culture of care and mutual support, and standing by colleagues through every challenge, CJ gives real meaning to “Prove It Together.”
