This makes the original series the most-nominated series of 2025. Across its full slate of produced, distributed, and licensed titles, FIFTH SEASON earned a total of 36 nominations — further solidifying its status as a powerhouse in the global entertainment industry. “Severance” is a suspenseful drama that follows employees at a major corporation who undergo a procedure that permanently separates their work and personal identities. The series is directed by acclaimed actor and filmmaker Ben Stiller, who received a directing nomination for the season finale. Upon the release of the first season, the show won two Primetime Creative Arts Emmy Awards and took home five honors at the Hollywood Critics Association TV Awards. After the global premiere of Season 2 on Apple TV+ this January, it broke the platform’s all-time viewership record within a month. Following the release of its season finale, the show made history as the first Apple TV+ original series to break into the Nielsen Streaming Top 10 rankings. “Severance” will compete against other globally acclaimed series at the Emmy Awards, which will be broadcast live from Los Angeles on September 14. Other big nominees include “The Penguin” with 24 nominations, and both “The Studio” and “The White Lotus,” each with 23 nominations. Other prestigious titles the studio has distributed and licensed include “Slow Horses,” “Pachinko” and “An Evening with Dua Lipa” — reflecting the creative range across genres valued by FIFTH SEASON. “FIFTH SEASON, CJ ENM’s global studio, continues to prove its creative and commercial power with Severance leading this year’s Emmy nominations,” a CJ ENM representative stated. “This year, we remain committed to delivering a wide range of premium content that combines artistic flare with global appeal, bringing us closer to our vision of becoming a true global IP powerhouse.”  FIFTH SEASON continues to expand its slate of high-end programming this year. In May, the studio released Season 2 of “Nine Perfect Strangers,” starring Nicole Kidman, as part of its lineup of prestige dramas, along with the film “Friendship,” starring Tim Robinson and Paul Rudd, which received strong praise at South by Southwest (SXSW). Recently, FIFTH SEASON has also begun developing new projects in collaboration with star creators and cast, including tennis legend Serena Williams and two-time Golden Globe winner Laura Linney.
