Haechandle Gochujang receives the first V-Label certification of any Korean jang brand Haechandle Gochujang’s V-Label certification will make it more accessible to both Korean and international vegan customers CJ CheilJedang has announced that its Haechandle Gochujang has become the first Korean ‘jang’ – a type of traditional fermented cooking paste – to obtain the V-Label, an international vegan trademark. The latest group of CJ CheilJedang products to receive V-Label certification covers 18 that are sold globally, including Haechandle 100% Korean Gochujang and Haechandle 100% Korean Rice and Sundried Pepper Gochujang. These products have all passed the V-Label’s rigorous criteria, which include that no animal-derived or genetically modified (GMO) ingredients can be used and that no cross-contamination with animal-derived ingredients can occur during production. The V-Label certification of Haechandle Gochujang is expected to boost sales of gochujang as a vegan option in global markets where plant-based foods are increasingly popular. According to Expert Market Research, the global vegan food market is projected to expand from $24.6 billion in 2022 to $43.8 billion in 2028, as trends like health-conscious eating and eco-friendly consumption continue to grow.
