CJ ENM STUDIOS, a subsidiary content studio established by CJ ENM in April, has announced film director Yoon Jae-kyun as its new CEO. Yoon will be responsible for the content division while the current CEO Ha Yong-soo will oversee the company’s business management sector.
Newly appointed Yoon is the first director in Korea to achieve two successive 10,000,000 audience hit movies with the films “Haeundae” (2009) and “Ode to My Father” (2014). In 2016, Yoon joined CJ
When CJ ENM acquired JK Film, a production company where the accomplished director was working at the time. After the acquisition, Yoon continued to prove himself as a box office hit maker by successfully launching films “Confidential Assignment” (2017) and “Keys to the Heart” (2018).
In addition, CJ ENM appointed Bon Factory’s Oh Kwang-hee as CJ ENM STUDIOS Content Director. While working as the CEO of Bon Factory, a drama production company acquired by CJ ENM in 2019, Director Oh exhibited his outstanding film production abilities through dramas including “Work Later, Drink Now” and “What’s Wrong with Secretary Kim”.
CJ ENM established CJ ENM STUDIOS on April 5, 2022 to produce multi-genre content targeting both domestic and international OTT (over-the-top) platforms. CJ ENM is strengthening its global content competitiveness by establishing a triangle business model system which is formed by Studio Dragon (established in 2016), U.S.-based Endeavor Content (acquisition completed January 2022) and newly established CJ ENM STUDIOS.
