Helping Those in Need CJ Corporation has announced that the company will donate 500 million won ($377,000) to those whose homes and livelihoods were negatively impacted by the recent torrential rains in the central region of Korea. This donation will be consolidated around the Korea Disaster Relief Association’s efforts to deliver relief to people whose ability to make an income has been impacted by the extreme weather, as well as efforts to repair and recover buildings and households damaged by water. Prior to this donation, CJ CheilJedang – a branch of CJ Corp – delivered 3,600 units of emergency relief supplies, including ready-meals and snacks, to the inhabitants of struggling areas. “This donation has been made in the hope that it will help the victims of these unexpected torrential rains to rebuild their livelihoods quickly and stably and get back to normal life as soon as possible.” a CJ Corporation official said. CJ Corp meanwhile, has continued to operate ongoing disaster relief efforts on the eastern coast of Korea, providing food, bedding and 500 million won ($377,000) in donations in response to the wildfires that struck the region in March of this year.
